Consultation

Flat fee service includes independent and personalized legal information & advice covering:

  • Review and witnessing support for marriage, separation, and mediated settlement agreements
  • Divorce eligibility assessment
  • Equalization and division of property assessment & calculation
  • Child and/or spousal support eligibility assessment & calculation
  • Property and support claims between unmarried cohabitational partners
  • Ontario Court of Justice or Unified Family Court applications for parenting time and decision-making responsibility (formerly custody and access)
  • Ontario Superior Court of Justice applications for divorce (contested or uncontested)
  • Child protection proceedings initiated against you or a family member

Simple Divorce Application

Straightforward and simple divorce application for when you and your spouse are in agreement about parenting time and parental decision-making responsibility (formerly, custody), child support, spousal support, division of property, and any other applicable issues.

Also known as an uncontested divorce, this is an application to the Ontario Superior Court of Justice pursuant to the federal Divorce Act for a divorce order alone. An uncontested divorce can either be filed by one party on consent, or jointly.

Flat fee service includes independent legal advice and divorce eligibility assessment; comprehensive information collection and drafting support; assistance with proper application service and filing as per court rules; and the opportunity for support with objection responses or additional proceedings for additional fees.


Complex Divorce Application

For when your divorce is not mutual or simple for various reasons, such as if you and your spouse are in dispute about parenting time and parental decision-making responsibility (formerly custody and access), child support, spousal support, division of property, and any other applicable issues.

Also known as a contested divorce, this is an application to the Ontario Superior Court of Justice pursuant to the federal Divorce Act and provincial Family Law Act for a divorce order and orders related to the other issues in dispute between you and your spouse.

Full representation retainer service includes independent legal advice and divorce eligibility assessment; litigation strategy support; comprehensive information collection and drafting support; assistance with proper application service and filing as per court rules; support with answer or responding/reply documents; communications management; and physical and oral representation up to the first case conference or long motion.


Applications for Parenting Issues and Financial Support (Unmarried)

For if you are not married, but still want to apply to a court to help settle a dispute around parenting time and parental decision-making responsibility (formerly custody and access), child support, spousal support, or other applicable issues like travel, exchange of and access to information, or a restraining order.

This is an application to the Ontario Court of Justice pursuant to the provincial Children’s Law Reform Act and Family Law Act for orders related to the parenting and financial support issues in dispute between you and your former common-law or cohabitational partner (or the other parent of your children, if you never lived together).

Agreement Drafting

Full representation retainer service includes comprehensive information collection, drafting, revision, and witnessing support for a wide variety of common family legal agreements, including marriage and cohabitation agreements, divorce and separation agreements, and co-parenting plans and agreements.


Child Protection

For when you or a family member are named in legal proceedings with or against a regional Children’s Aid Society for child protection concerns, to which the provincial Children’s Law Reform Act and Child, Youth, and Family Services Act, 2017 apply.
